Greenbriar Marks 69th Anniversary with ‘690 Campaign’
To celebrate the nonprofit organization’s 69th Anniversary, Greenbriar Children’s Center is challenging and encouraging the community to support the 690 Campaign. This initiative, which runs June 1-July 30, will help raise funds for the organization’s continued efforts to lift and protect local families and children.
The purpose of the 690 Campaign is to raise funds in increments of 690. Whether supporters can give $6.90 or $69,000, it all counts and will help Greenbriar Children’s Center as they continue to promote the healthy development of children and strengthening of families. Greenbriar has also tasked its board members with soliciting at least 10 donations of $69 – totaling $690 – as a fun and meaningful challenge.
Below is a breakdown of the various ways the funds raised from this campaign can help change the lives of children and families in the Savannah community.
$6.90 – two meals for a hungry child
$69 – one hour of counseling services for a family in crisis
$690 – two months of quality, affordable childcare for one child
$6,900 – two months of safe shelter, food, clothing, healthcare and social services for a homeless child
$69,000 – two months of safe shelter, food, clothing, healthcare and social services for 10 homeless children
“Last year’s ‘680 Campaign’ – which commemorated our 68th anniversary – was such a success that we decided to reimplement this initiative and expand it for our 69th anniversary,” said Greenbriar Children’s Center Executive Director Gena Taylor. “Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps make a difference in the lives of children and families in need in our community. Together, we truly can make a difference.”
Greenbriar promotes the healthy development of children and strengthening of families by providing services that include an emergency shelter, runaway/homeless residential care, independent living, family preservation, early childhood education and care, and Project Safe Place.
