Dear Greenbriar Supporters,
On behalf of Greenbriar Children Center’s leaders and staff, I’d like to extend our heartfelt wishes for your continued health and safety during this time of uncertainty. The spread of COVID-19 through the Coastal Empire – and the nation as a whole – has prompted organizations and businesses to take swift action. Greenbriar is no different.
We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for the youth and families who we serve, as well as our staff. Due to the risks and threats posed by the potential spread of the virus, Greenbriar has implemented many procedures and measures to keep our clients, partners and employees healthy and safe.
Our staff and custodial services are adhering to Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Department of Public Health (DPH) recommendations for cleaning procedures to prevent the spread of infection in high-traffic areas, including offices at all sites and classrooms at the early learning centers. All Greenbriar facilities, including residential cottages, have been – and will continue to be – deep cleaned and sanitized.
To limit the spread of infection, we have asked program staff to wash their hands frequently, cover their mouths and noses with tissue when coughing or sneezing; avoid close contact with each other, disinfect frequently touched surfaces often and stay home if they feel ill.
Greenbriar is considered an essential services; thusly, our offices are open. Social distancing is being practiced at all sites. Meetings and other necessary interactions are being held digitally. The organization is not receiving unscheduled visitors nor donations of goods at this time. All family/parental visitations have been canceled until further notice.
The family preservation staff continues to provide services via telecommunications from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. until further notice. Greenbriar’s two early learning centers: W.W. Law and Windy’s Preschool, are closed until further notice. The centers’ directors and teachers are at the centers sanitizing and cleaning the facilities, as well as participating in in-service training. Specific protocols and procedures are in place to ensure the safety and health served in the Emergency Shelter.
To communicate with the families we serve, we’re utilizing social media and email, as well as encouraging families to refer to the Georgia DPH’s website for additional information and guidance.
Thank you for your continued support of Greenbriar Children’s Center. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more updates. And if you’re able to assist us with financial support at this time, we’d be most grateful as we’re still providing our children and families with supplies, food and care. We’re wishing you and your family continued good health and safety as we continue to navigate this unchartered territory as best we can.
Sincerely,
Gena P. Taylor
