Greenbriar Children’s Center Welcomes New Board Member
She is experienced and skilled at management, strategic planning, marketing and organizational development. Hallowell demonstrates the strong ability to work collaboratively within and between groups to find common ground to achieve mutual goals.
Hallowell holds an MBA in marketing from Babson College, a master’s in city planning from the University of Rhode Island, and a concentration in urban studies from Harvard College. Over 25 years of employment afforded Hallowell the opportunity to work in several positions in marketing, management, research, consulting, etc. She spent the majority of her career fighting for economic self-sufficiency for families and life-skills for women and girls in-need or at-risk.
As a commissioner on the Status of Women in Essex County, Hallowell represented the social, economic, health, and racial and ethnic discrimination issues concerning women and their families in Essex County. She also testified to various Massachusetts legislative committees and forums.
Hallowell served as a member and Board President of The Women’s Fund of Essex County, which raises and grants funds to nonprofit programs in Essex County, Massachusetts. Over three terms, Hallowell served as board president, vice president, treasurer, and grants allocation committee member. Her accomplishments include increasing fundraising and grantmaking initiatives, significantly raising the organization’s profile and credibility through issue leadership, data research and dissemination, marketing, public speaking, leading strategic planning, and developing strong community alliances/collaborations.
From 2016-18, Hallowell was a member of Impact Essex County Advisory Committee, where she was a part of an appointed team to identify needs and define solutions to improving the economic self-sufficiency of families in Essex County. Her impactful roles included helping to define vision, identifying indicators of family economic health, garnering community support, and building alliances/collaborations.
