SAVANNAH, GA– July 26, 2019 – W.W. Law Learning Center, an early childhood education and care program operated by Greenbriar Children’s Center, recently announced its designation as a two-star Quality Rated facility, courtesy of Georgia’s Department of Early Care and Learning’s Bright from the Start. The childcare center is located at the W.W. Law Recreation Center in Savannah, GA.

“Quality Rated” is the system Georgia uses to determine, improve and communicate the quality of programs that provide childcare. Similar to the rating system given to restaurants and hotels–one, two or three stars are assigned to early education and school-age childcare programs that meet or exceed the minimum requirements.

“Achieving a two-star rating from Bright from the Start is a tremendous cause for celebration at Greenbriar’s W.W. Law Learning Center!” W.W. Law Center Director Sonya Nethles said. “It not only indicates the superior quality of childcare and education our precious children are provided; it also demonstrates Greenbriar’s commitment tocontinuouslymaintaining and improving that quality.”

Participation in Georgia’s voluntary Quality Rated program guarantees safe, healthy and caring environments, well-trained teachers, individualized instruction, low teacher to student ratio and curriculums focused on active learning and social-emotional development to prepare children for kindergarten.

“Family engagement is very important to us. Being Quality Rated allows our parents and families to enjoy the highest level of confidence, knowing they chose a center that was independently assessed by the State of Georgia and found to provide the very best care and education for their children,” Nethles said.

Greenbriar Children’s Center is a private, nonprofit organization, which promotes the healthy development of children and the strengthening of families through services provided. These services include emergency shelter, independent living, family preservation, early childhood education and care, and Project Safe Place.

“Greenbriar’s early childhood education and care program enable families who are diligently attempting to escape poverty, to go to work every day, knowing their children are in safe, nurturing environments, receiving quality education,” states Greenbriar’s Executive Director Gena Taylor. “And how wonderful it is to receive a two-star Quality Rating as we celebrate 70 years of nurturing children and strengthening families!”
