Director of Early Childhood Education and Care Services

Greenbriar has a rich history of serving children and families for 75 years in Savannah, GA. In our region, there is an urgent need for affordable and accessible, high quality infant and early care and learning services. Greenbriar is growing to meet this need!

Summary of Duties Include:

Planning, providing oversight and advancing high-quality Infant & Early Learning services provided by Greenbriar Children’s Center; develops and implements an effective TWO-GEN parent and child learning framework that is central to our programs and mission; collaborates with colleagues to advance Greenbriar’s strategic priorities resulting in a thriving and effective culture of service to our Savannah-Chatham County community; provides mentoring, guidance, supervision, and professional development to all leadership staff; and serves as a critical member of Greenbriar’s administrative team, guided by the principles of resiliency and trauma informed care.

We are a multi-site location with early learning facilities located within the historic districts of Savannah, GA. Qualifications:

A minimum of three to five years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Development and a passion to help children and families to thrive. Previous experience supervising and training a diverse staff ranging from GED to master’s level. Demonstrated experience managing a high-performing team in a multi-site structure to include professional development and mentorship. Has some experience opening an Early Learning Center from construction to developing operational plans is desirable.

Educational Requirements:

Completion of a Master’s degree program at an accredited college or university with major coursework in Early Childhood Development or similar field.

Other Requirements:

CPR or First Aid Certification, to be completed within one month of the date of hire, along with completion of a successful background check prior to hire.

SOCIAL WORKER: FAMILY PRESERVATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES PROGRAM

The Social Worker serves as a critical member of Greenbriar’s team guided by the principles of resiliency and trauma informed care. In collaboration with the family, the Social Worker conducts an assessment of family needs, develops a plan of goals and objectives that will achieve the desired outcomes for the family.

Summary of Duties Include:

Developing and implementing behavioral health services with clients to include case management, individual and group counseling, parent education, life skills training, behavior management, connections to community resources, advocacy, etc.; is a strong advocate for families and children in our community; collaborates with colleagues to assist in the advancement of Greenbriar’s strategic priorities which will help to ensure a thriving and effective culture of service to the Savannah-Chatham County community; develop relationships with community agencies and seeks out possible partners and supports for families and children and referrals to other sources for appropriate care.

Qualifications:
A minimum of three to five years of experience in the field of human services. Previous experience working with children, youth and families in a social service program is desirable, as is familiarity with the philosophy and objectives underlying the provision of social services to children youth and families. Previous experience working with families in crisis, making presentations and facilitating training programs.

Educational Requirements:
Completion of a Master’s degree program at an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work or social work administration or related field that leads to licensure.

CLINICAL COORDINATOR

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for providing clinical coordination to all program areas – Family Preservation, Early Childhood Education and Care and Residential services. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: development and implementation of outreach efforts to facilitate client compliance/access; interacting, planning and coordinating with case management and/or social work staff who provide direct support and advocacy services geared to enhancing the development, problem-solving, and coping capacities of families and children; supervise counseling activities; provide supervision to staff seeking licensure; monitor appropriate planning, implementation and evaluation of program area strengths and challenges from a clinical perspective; conduct assessments, review and assess treatment plans, supervise techniques to resolve issues and implement interventions that may be utilized. Additional responsibilities include providing counseling services to clients as needed and data collection and analysis for dissemination by the Performance & Quality Improvement Team. Work hours require occasional evenings and/or weekend hours.

Minimum Skills and Experience Requirements:

At least 2-3 years post licensure in mental health and/or behavioral health working with a multi-cultural, varied socio-economic client population in human services, community health or similar. Previous experience supervising and training a diverse staff ranging from GED to master’s level.
Must utilize evidence-based, Trauma-Informed Care specific interventions

Required Licensure and Educational Requirements:

Must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or similar profession in the State of Georgia. Master’s degree in any of the clinical sciences, e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Mental Health, etc.

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

This is a part-time position which reports to the Finance Director. Performs routine and repetitive clerical accounting and bookkeeping duties following established procedures to accomplish duties. Maintains and makes necessary adjustments to various records and/or logs such as journals, payroll/ time reports, or property records. Verifies amounts and codes on various forms for accuracy. Sorts documents and posts debits/credits to proper account. Balances entries and makes necessary corrections. Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and principles.

Minimum Skills and Experience Requirements:

Minimum of three (3) years accounting experience in a not for profit environment. Experience in utilization of a computerized accounting system preferably Quick Books Accounting or similar package.

Educational Requirements:

At least an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.  Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Emergency Shelter Lead Youth Enrichment Assistant:

General Summary of Duties

The Lead Youth Enrichment Assistant maintains a safe, supportive, trauma-informed environment with the shelter. Work hours require occasional evenings and/or weekend hours.

Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements

A minimum of a high school diploma or GED; some college preferred. At least 3-5 years-experience in human services preferably with children or young adults and/or in shelter programs with vulnerable populations and a minimum of one year of staff management experience is desired. CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Youth Enrichment Assistant (PT/FT- Overnight Week & Weekend):

General Summary of Duties

Provide direct care and supervision to children and youth from 12 to 17 years of age. Assist with daily living skills. Experience working with adolescents in crisis requiring behavioral redirection and guidance. Must be a team player and must possess a strength based philosophy. Some college preferred.

Preschool Teacher Assistant/Floater:

General Summary of Duties

Assist Lead Teacher in instructional activities and classroom management. Ensure the overall supervision and daily functions of each classroom. Engage children in learning activities and imaginative play; teach basic skills such as color and shape recognition, letter and number recognition, personal hygiene and social skills. Six months to one year of classroom management experience. HS diploma or GED and a desire to increase knowledge by obtaining a CDA or TCC certification within 12-16 months of employment.

Assistant Cook (PT): 

General Summary of Duties

Assist FT cook with meal prep for Early Childhood Program. Assist with delivery of meals to the site. Back up support when lead is out.

All positions require minimum high school diploma or GED, or higher as specified, criminal background check, DMV report, drug screening and a physical.

Runaway-Homeless/SafePlace Coordinator:

The Coordinator for Greenbriar’s Runaway-Homeless/Safeplace Program is responsible for the community education, site development and volunteer recruitment of the program and service coordination for program youth. The Coordinator is the liaison for educational support systems and therapeutic support to runaways, homeless and at-risk youth. Facilitates Runaway Homeless/Safeplace referrals to the Emergency Shelter, Family Preservation Program or DFCS when appropriate.

Minimum Skills and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Psychology or a closely related field of study. Three or more years of experience in human services providing case management for youth in foster care or juvenile court supervision. Ability to engage others in support of youth safety including businesses and community agency support.

Salary commensurate with experience and other qualifications.

Criminal background clearances, clean drugscreen and DMV report required.
